Helia Darabi is an independent historian of Iranian contemporary art based in Tehran. She has been writing essays and critiques on movements and tendencies in Iranian contemporary art and forwards to artists’ books and exhibition catalogs since 2000. Her contribution to international conferences and publications on Iranian contemporary art include: “Critics and Criticism, Reflections on Iranian Contemporary Art”, London (2017), "Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art as a Microcosm of the Administrative Cultural Agenda", University of London, SOAS (2013), and "Site-specificity in Iranian Contemporary Art", Kunstverein, Bonn Hochstadenring, Bonn (2012).
